ConnexCares Scholarship Program
Connex Scholarship Criteria
These $2,000 scholarships are available to any student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Eligible candidates include high school seniors planning to attend college or trade school, as well as those already enrolled full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year undergraduate program or vocational/trade school for the Fall 2025 semester. To qualify, either the student or a direct family member (parent, grandparent, sibling, aunt, uncle) must be a Connex member in good standing as of December 31, 2024. Applicants can apply to only one scholarship.

John R. Edwards Community Involvement Scholarship
Applicants must show a strong commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion while driving positive change in their communities. The scholarship recognizes leaders passionate about collaboration and societal betterment.
Arthur B. Haesche -Business Scholarship
Applicants must pursue a degree or career in business, finance, trade, or related fields, demonstrating strong academics, entrepreneurial spirit, and dedication. This scholarship supports individuals excelling in business, innovation, or skilled trades.
Nicolas G. Hackett Memorial Academic Scholarship
Applicants must demonstrate an outstanding academic record as well as a commitment to the pursuit of intellectual growth but also demonstrate intellectual curiosity and a genuine passion for learning.
Dave F. Clark Arts & Music Scholarship
Applicants must present a strong portfolio or evidence of artistic achievements in visual arts, performing arts, or music, highlighting their passion and talent. This scholarship honors outstanding artistic potential.
5 Merit Scholarships - Towns of New Haven, West Haven, Hamden
This ConnexCares Merit Scholarship is open to students from the towns of New Haven, West Haven, and Hamden with exceptional academic achievement and dedication to their studies. This scholarship recognizes well-rounded individuals with strong potential and a commitment to personal and academic growth.
6 Merit Scholarships - Towns in Hartford, Middlesex, New Haven, and Fairfield County
This ConnexCares Merit Scholarship is open to students from New Haven, Fairfield, Middlesex, and Hartford Counties (excluding New Haven, West Haven, and Hamden). Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence, dedication to their studies, and a commitment to personal and academic growth.

2023 Dave F. Clark Arts & Music Scholarship Recipient
Grace Wentland
Grace Wentland, is this year's recipient of the $2,000 Dave F. Clark Arts & Music Scholarship, named after one of Connex's longest-service Board members with 55 years of volunteer service. Grace is a 2023 Conard High School graduate, and plans to attend the University of Connecticut in the Fall as a double major in Biology and Music.
2023 John R. Edwards Community Involvement Scholarship Recipient
Kaileigh Tarantino
Kaileigh Tarantino is a 2023 Daniel Hand High School graduate and plans to attend New York University in the Fall as a Real State major. She was a part of Daniel Hand High School's advisory committee in developing a class that requires students to assist and talk about mental and social-emotional health in a safe and well-protected environment. Her dedication to the community is reflected through her volunteer work with The Community Dining Room, The Cove Center, Madison Community Services, Madison Food Pantry, and other organizations in her community..
2023 Nicolas G. Hackett Memorial Scholarship Recipient
Beth Christensen
Beth Christensen is this year's recipient of the $2,000 Nicolas G. Hackett Memorial Scholarship. Beth just finished her first year at Smith College where she is working towards her Environmental Geosciences degree. During her first year at Smith College, she was a part of the Dean's List and was one of the freshmen top students awarded the Arthur Ellis Hamm Prize.

Olivia Tripp
Olivia Tripp is this year's recipient of the $2,000 Arthur B. Haesche Memorial Scholarship, established in honor of one of Connex's founding members that is reserved for a student majoring in a business-related field including general business, accounting, marketing, or finance.).She is a 2023 Branford High School graduate and plans to attend UMASS Boston in the Fall as a Marketing and Communications Major. Olivia is a lacrosse player, and has helped coach and teach young girls new lacrosse skills through summer camp. Her dedication to the community is reflected through her participation in fundraisers to money for the Cystic Fibrosis foundation for research.

Natalie Bryan
Natalie attended Guilford High School and has been a Principal Cellist at Shoreline Youth Orchestras, Guilford High Public School Ensembles, CMEA All-State Festival, and CMEA Southern Region Festival. She was awarded the Shoreline Youth Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, Neighborhood Music School Merit Award with Honors in Performance, GHS Musical Achievement Award, as well as the Guilford High School Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition.

Nicholas went to Notre Dame High School and has been doing amazing work in his community and school: He is the Leader & Co-Founder of Serving the Served, Served at Project Linus, is a Town Rotary Auction Volunteer, City Festival Volunteer, St. Bridget of Sweden Event Volunteer & Offertory Collector, Special Olympics CT Volunteer, Franciscan Sisters; Annual Christmas Bazaar Volunteer. Nicholas is also a part of the Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and English Honor Society. And has received honors such as the Yale Book Award, RPI Award for Excellence in Math, AAPPL Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish, and ND Math Team Award.

Lindsay Meade
Lindsay attended Acellus Academy and in the Fall, she started at the University of Southern Maine, in Portland. Lindsay's academic accolades include Honor Roll, SNEMN Fine Arts Sectionals Second Place-Photography, Volleyball team made 3rd place at States, Team Leadership Award for Farmington Valley Gymnastics, and Team Spirit Award for Farmington Valley Gymnastics Team. She has volunteered at Kids Leadership Team, Convoy of Hope, as well as at her local church.

Jathaved is a class of 2022 graduate at Trumbull High School and has an impressive resume that includes: Wharton Investment Competition, Captain of Trumbull High School Boys Varsity Tennis Team, BEI (Business Education Initiative) Club, Intern at Town of Trumbull Economic and Community Development Committee, Volunteer at the Trumbull Senior Center, Academic High Honor Roll and more.
